Rick Springfield parody lyrics
Blast Those Tentacles Away
For use with Dance This World Away
(What does the markup on these lyrics mean?)
Everybody looks so grossed out there
Only disgust came of the supposed fright
We got ex - treme non - sense and repulsion from the
Bad news for the wizard la - dy
Davy-thought-she looked so romantic
Why-did he not keel over instead
Of becoming an abomination
(Not) looking at the creep or
Listening to his heartbeat
Blast those tentacles away [x4]
A proper villain is some-sort of hero
When-seen from on their own side
But-this abomination-has zero just - if - ied reasons to fight
Why the battle sighted on the horizon
That leads to us falling out of the sky
When we get in his-Locker
(Not) looking at the creep or
Listening to his heartbeat
Blast those tentacles away [x4]
Into his Locker, a ship that’s sinking
Why do I think that he-does-not know (why)
Looking out, but no reason
(Not) looking at the creep or
Listening to his boxed (up) heartbeat
Behind the scenes
- The first version of this parody was written as a single in late 2013.
- However, like almost all my parodying from that year, it was harsh (in this case saying it was dumb for his ship to have an organ) and had things that could have been done better (the original changed
zero
to hero,
even though that was the exact word at the end of he line this line was supposed to rhyme with, and using the same word again is not a rhyme). Therefore, this edited version was made in January 2019 when doing Tao as a parody album.
