Styx parody lyrics
Blights
For use with Lights
(What does the markup on these lyrics mean?)
I have to knock on the door
Since pi - rates don’t have door - bells
(But) I got the better to make barnacles go
With many plots in my head
To find-right places to be
With no faces that are awful to see
The plan coming from me tonight
The blights won’t plague me where I long to be
Just as we agreed nights before
Everybody said with me
That is the right thing to do
We’ll sit back and relax
Go to the islands and forget it all
Slow down, need not move fast
Enjoy our break while it lasts
Tak - ing advice of how to settle down
Thank you for caring, now tonight the blights won’t plague me where I long to be
Just as we agreed nights before
I can’t explain what created those things
Free me from blights, repulsive blights
Improve over blights
By getting the soap, make sure we are-cleaner
You can turn the wrong into right
Removing blights
Do-my-thinking on what-is the best-way
What is, what-is the best-way?
Behind the scenes
- Originally written in early 2014 as part of the parody album of Cornerstone.
- This was the first parody I wrote that ended up being compatible with the rules I eventually established for myself and therefore did not have to be labeled, edited, or removed from the canon later on.
