Information Society parody lyrics

Gratitude

For use with Attitude

(What does the markup on these lyrics mean?)

We-got out of this big town
To be who
we can be
But the tough guys
going by the-law
They don’t want us to be free
But
we know we have the power
Know someday they’ll be dead
They can’t get
us to turn around
We keep sailing straight ahead

Cause
we got gratitude
That we could get this through
And
we got gratitude
That we could see this through

Back-with navies
We grew up with nothing
But hunger
and a curse
All the nasty navies tell her
“You’ll only go from bad to worse”
But
we just keep on relieving
We tell them we’re doing fine
They get rich while
we get smart
Us growing stronger all the time

Everybody knows
how things are
No thing to address
We make sure we are getting a - way
Cause the country’s in a mess
As they buy that land, start that war
Keep those people poor
They don’t care of people aren’t going to take it anymore
