Styx parody lyrics
Lego Pieces of Eight

(What does the markup on these lyrics mean?)
Before reading, note that this, specifically, deals with Lego video games, mostly the one for Pirates of the Caribbean, but also the Lego game treatment of Star Wars. If you do not know, the Jedi are the protagonists of the latter franchise.
It’s eleven o’clock
The Lego studs are everywhere
The warm Car - rib - bean gentle breeze blows through my hair
I destroy everything in sight, only stopping to see
What’s beautiful that was meant for me
Will’s dad’s a prisoner in a thing’s disguise
But today, I won’t speak-of blights
It’s seven o’clock, it’s quitting time, I’m done for the day
Out on the sea I overheard my matey say
Level now has nothing or so people say
But destroying every thing is the Lego way
We break everything in sight, the reason why
Like Jedi, need the studs that fly(Lego) pieces of eight
The search for the money dream
Studs of silver, blue and gold
(Lego) pieces of eight
Can buy you everything
Never blew it on monsters I was shown(Lego) pieces of eight
Treasures fill all objects
Never blew it on monsters I was shown

Behind the scenes
- Originally written in spring 2014 as part of the parody album of Pieces of Eight.
- Out of what appears on my site, this parody is an anomaly. I attribute it to an old cast of characters I dubbed the Comic Five. Their works are generally not on my site due to being too topical among other issues. The only exceptions are
Old War
and this one.
- I kept this one for three reasons. First, it is a rare instance of the Five writing a parody that did not mention anything I made up. Second, and at least equally unusual for them, is that it actually works with the song rather than just changing everything for the sake of it. Finally, I am inclined to call this the most pleasant parody they ever wrote (their works were usually violent, condescending, and/or focused on the disgusting aspects of the enemy). Therefore, it seemed like I might as well put this out, even though it breaks the rules of everything else on the site.
