Rick Springfield parody lyrics

Ocean Ties

For use with Motel Eyes

(What does the markup on these lyrics mean?)

How did react - ions get so strong
To question - ing a kiss
I guessed he had a little much to drink
Sail - ors commonly do this
But
he was looking for another dead man’s soul tonight
And
he had me right between his sights
He found a way to have a big pipe organ
Playing a favorite song
And
he was hurting with a lone - ly heart
But something was wrong
I saw
him covered in dripping brine nasty to the eyes
It
was from-the-sea
He had ocean ties

[Chorus:]

I wanna black out my sight
Show me no more
I would like to (get) him a medicine jar
I looked again but there was nothing there

He dove out of sight
There’s no disguising ocean ties

In the end I am guessing that
His temperature must’ve been high
And though it
couldn’t have been a treasure
He just had to lock it-tight
Though there was something wicked
About the way
he went and tried
To scare me with his ocean ties

[Chorus]

He started saying something ‘bout the cruel afterlife
As I caught the flash of the ocean ties

[Chorus]

Black out my sight[x2]
Ocean ties
