Styx parody lyrics
The Bad Delusion
For use with The Grand Illusion
(What does the markup on these lyrics mean?)
Say-no to the bad delusion
Come on and real - ize what’s happening
(Cannot) pay the price of having your san - ity go
The stage is set, the band starts playing
Saying your heart is (best) left-in
Nonsense is what the enemies are
We describe the fools by rock and-roll
There be-songs we got to-sing
He don’t know organ playing is no way to be
Value of rock, not something he-sees
So if Da - vy - s life is complete confusion
And he never wins the game
Just remember he has a bad delusion
We just don’t know what’s to blame
What (is) to blame?
So if Da - vy - s life is complete confusion
And he never got it made
Just remember he has a bad delusion
We just don’ know what’s to blame
He-cannot blame competition
For whatever is his vile mission
He is the least impressive by far
Someday soon we’ll stop to ponder what on Earth’s this spell he’s under
He made the degrade and still we wonder what the aquatic deals are
Behind the scenes
- The original version of this parody was written in late 2013 as part of the parody album of The Grand Illusion.
- However, like all the parodies I wrote that year, it had issues, in this case mostly with using fan made names and covering things in the context of the comic strip I was writing at the time. Therefore, the form in which it appears is an edited version written in June 2017.
