Rick Springfield parody lyrics

The Flying Dutchman

For use with The Tao of Heaven

(What does the markup on these lyrics mean?)

Do-not surrender, surrender
The
high - est spirit turned on this-captain
Left him sailing deep
When the heart
got cutting, the creature went bad
Best-heart remains whatever you do
The Fly - ing Dutchman, blight on every eye
Barnacled from sailing deep
It’s a
fake escape for those afraid to die
Best-heart remains whatever you do

Behind the scenes

I had thought of the line It’s a fake escape for those afraid to die way back in the fall of 2013, but only wrote it down here in January 2019, as part of the parody album of Tao.
