Behind the scenes
- The first version of this appeared as a comic strip I drew in late 2013.
- The parody was heavily edited in June 2017. This was necessary to make it publishable, as its initial draft showed definite influence from my old problems, the caricatures known as the Comic Five. It called the enemy fools, and referred to what would happen if I had my way by saying said tentacles were being censored in accordance with
optic protection rules.
Also, as the Five were oblivious to the fact that singing to Davy can make a parody work better, they covered him in the third person, as they almost always did - and, just as typical for them, threw in fan fiction that assumes you had read my strip. Finally, the second to last line was originally So locate his heart and make my vengeance start,
which implies that Will Turner was supposed to be singing this, but I decided it was too vague and unnecessarily limiting.
