Styx parody lyrics
What a Freak
For use with Why Me
(What does the markup on these lyrics mean?)
I guess Disney used to be the okay ones
But we-got nonsense from everyone
Stop, stop
A voice said you best beware
Stop, stop
In for a tentacled-scare
Captain sure is an ugly, repulsive sight
But an overestimated fright
Stop, stop
Please tell me what went wrong
Stop, stop
What has brought these aquatic mutations on?
Barnacle - d scum, whose heart’s alone
Impossibly beating in-the not even Dead Man’s
Chest with nothing treasurable
Sea life is strange under Disney for-sure
They may have hardly thought it through
They just cast a vague curse to do
Organ keys repeated - ly hit
By gross beard used to play
I know I had enough
I got the right to say
What (a) freak, what (a) freak
Ick-lame!
Stop stop
What’s he want-from-me
Stop, stop
Won’t he please let me be, I need relief
Kra - ken goes, tis how they do
Setup for when the sequel’s made
You’re really not alone you know
Cause everybody says,
What (a) freak[x2]
What (a) freak, and that is not enough of what I want to know. Huh. I don’t know.
Behind the scenes
- The first version of this parody was written in early 2014 as part of the parody album of Cornerstone.
- Like many of my parodies from that time, this parody warranted editing, which I did in June 2017, to make it publishable. The problems in this case were mostly insults, although another thing I changed was that the second line originally said
Elizabeth got nonsense from everyone,
which was an arbitrary specification I determined to have been unnecessarily made.
