Rick Springfield parody lyrics

What Kind of Fool is He

For use with What Kind of Fool am I

(What does the markup on these lyrics mean?)

I wonder if Davy has-got a-blight
Should you be going out with him?
(Is) he not your type?
What were all the things ye used to do to Davy
Well, I’d say something to him
But I have my questions
Could it be his love just gets-you repulsed
But he can’t think why he ever let go
He must be going crazy

Tell
him, what kind of fool is he
To just let go,
To just let go like that
What kind of fool
is he
To lose you

Have been told sometimes
That ye made him feel alive
He could be a spoiled matey
But lady, can you love?
He has loved but maybe he never will again
How can he get better
When he comes a - round
Is he not well? Is a blight going around
Has he lost whatever makes the world go round
Do-you suspect he has gone nuts

Did he come too quickly to the oct - op - us
Ma- king you quest - ion whether he was all right
Was he too busy checking out the left hand
And he didn’t see the right
Tell
him, what kind of fool is he
To just let go,
To just let go like that
What kind of fool
is he
How crazy’s he? Yo, lady, he’s coming back
I
quest - ion as to whether
This is gonna work it out
But
he never meant to say goodbye
Tell
him, what kind of fool is he
What kind of fool is he [x2]
To lose you

Behind the scenes

Originally written in early 2015, at the start of a batch of singles that together tell a story. You can get the story by following this parody with Love in the Midnight, Bleeding Out, and Man in the Wilderness, in that order.

It is worth noting that even the music of these songs adds to the effect. It starts out kind of perky and easygoing with this song. In Love in the Midnight, you can start to hear the tension, and then it gets very dramatic in Bleeding Out. Finally, Man in the Wilderness takes place years later, and brings us back to a musical tone similar to the beginning here.
