Styx parody lyrics
With the Crab Claw
For use with Miss America
(What does the markup on these lyrics mean?)
You lost the battle to the pirate side as we shot the cannon at your barnacled lot
Oh my gosh, are you a disgust. How can we get relief?
We wonder why we all forgot your-past, ex - cept that she let you down
The reason you are in-blighted state is no where to be found
What happened (to) you with the-crab -claw
Why you with the-crab -claw
Why you with the-crab -claw
Ah ah
Why, crit - ter, who do you think you are
There are no smiles seen when you are around
You disgust, we are not scared, but screaming, grossed, mad
It would seem you must have (had) a disease for which there is no cure
That you-could have-gotten in time or not an existent treatment at all
Why you with the-crab -claw
Why you with the-crab -claw
Why you with the-crab -claw
Ah ah
With the-crab -claw, with the-crab -claw, with the-crab -claw, with the-crab -claw
But it’s true just take a look - Only for-wrong reasons (you) make the book
You’re a creature, with no good tasks, all we are is annoyed
You will pay, the humans will not lose, any more (than they) stop to look at you
Best thing we can do, your horrors can not be forgotten
Why you with the-crab -claw
Why you with the-crab -claw
Why you with the-crab -claw
Ah ah
Behind the scenes
- The first draft of this parody was written in December 2013.
- However, like all parodies from that year that I have not disowned entirely, which is most of them, this parody has been edited to make it publishable. The original version had the name of the characters I dismissed for a reason the following year written on it in several places - burning the enemy, claiming it was illegal to take photographs of his tentacles (do not ask), being more insulting than accurate in its description of him, telling him to die, that sort of thing.
- See here for more on what drove me to tune down the hostile nature of the parody.
