Assessment of suitability for parodying

General

Not a complicated song, but it has an unusual subject, so it can be a good choice if you want to do something different.

Aeon’s End-specific

For many years, I expected I would always remain confined to songs about pirates. It took a powerful connection to get me to change - but here, I got one.

I went on to compare it to how I got myself stuck on Pirates of the Caribbean canon in the first place, calling it the Father O.S.A. for Aeon’s End. Just as it was mind-boggling to discover an actual song about a sad old father sailing eternally, It’s a Sin is equally reminiscent of an AE character by the name of Xaxos. He looks upon his past with shame, knowing he is to blame for bad things happening everywhere he has been and will be, exactly as the song describes.

Well, almost - he never uses the word sin or asks the forgiveness of anyone he calls Father. Therefore, even if there were 7-fodder songs, It’s a Sin would not be one. But it is up there, far enough to mean one of my friends could not believe how perfect the song is for the shameful guy I mentioned to her.
