Like Father, Like Son
Parody: Cursed Father, Cursed Son
Artist: Rick Springfield
Album: Living In Oz
Track number on album: 10
Duration: 2:57
Fodder rating (out of 5): 5
The song is too short to have a lot go on in it, but it is not your typical story. Still, it is reasonable in its being more or less broadly applicable, except for the mention of a car.
This is one of the best kinds of songs for my purposes. Father says something that gives son an uneasy feeling, then comes marriage and a son further down the bloodline, only for it to turn out a chain of the same things going wrong for a man of each generation of the family is happening, and what goes on behind that is much more than a fear of pain. Oh, so very ripe for making about the Turner family. The song only has a violin in it, too, so even the music is perfect for the purpose.
