The construction of the song is fairly conventional, with not too many words and most of them being small. However, the unusual subject makes the song a bit harder to make a broad assessment of, as does the fact that the artist was not a native English speaker and the song consequently has some odd wording in places (notably the description of the iceberg as a mountain of ice
).
The song obviously cannot be a 5-fodder, due to taking place somewhere cold and in the early 20th century. However, the premise of a tragedy at sea gives it a degree of relevance I could not ignore.
