You Better Ask
Parody: You Better Check
Artist: Styx
Album: Styx II
Track number on album: 4
Duration: 3:54
Fodder rating (out of 5): 4
Even at this early time, Styx was not completely conventional. There is a loose story holding the whole song together, but it could be described as three short stories in one. Certainly a few of the details are not what you would find in just any song. All in all, it largely comes down to what suits your niche.
This song was not that serious to begin with, which seemed to help it serve the angle I like to take. Of the three distinct parts the song can be divided into, the first was about meeting a girl, and the second said The devil took my soul.
Not so helpful was that last part, about going to the doctor, so this one may not be great fodder, but it is very good until the last verse.
